With the help and encouragement of staff, many Chetwynde School pupils have been showing great enthusiasm in raising funds both directly for the Sachibondu Clinic in Zambia and the cost of shipping out all items collected.
Year 10 pupils from Chetwynde School particularly entered into the spirit of things. Their sponsored fancy dress walk along the fifteen-mile first leg of the Cumbrian Way raised valuable funds for the clinic, as well as raising a few local eyebrows!
There were also three extremely successful dance evenings, which raised money directly for the clinic. These comprised a medley of dance, including the tango, social foxtrot, salsa, a ceilidh and disco, giving Chetwynde's folk group, Glaramara, and tango group, Chetango, opportunities to play for active audiences of dancers; even those with two left feet were not afraid to give it a go on the dance floor!

Other pupils participated in sponsored silences, bike rides and a non-uniform, the proceeds of which were also donated to the work of Sachibondu.
In addition, fundraising has been incorporated into routine school events, such as the annual Autumn and Spring Concerts, where a substantial percentage of ticket sales was donated to the appeal, as well as raffles for the clinic.
Spring Mount Christian Fellowship has also generously supported Sachibondu, including holding a fundraising barn dance and organising a cafe evening for the final of the TV talent show The X Factor.

Pupils from various years at Chetwynde School helped to collect clothing and other useful products, ready to be packed and sent off to Zambia.
